Hops to Homebrew

Beer_makingIn celebration of SF Beer Week and Good Foods Month, UKSF is putting on its second homebrew workshop with local homebrewer, Eric Denman.  Participants will learn both the entry-level approach (extract brewing, partial boil) and the advanced approach (full grain, full boil).  Nigel Walker of Eatwell Farm will also be on hand to talk about his homemade malt, which will be used in brewing an in-class batch of beer.

Each participant will take home an extract starter kit, complete with all of the ingredients you need to make a batch of delicious brew.  A representative from San Francisco Brewcraft will also discuss buying ingredients and equipment.  Samples will be available, but feel free to also BYOB.  All workshop participants will receive a one-time discount of 10% off at our favorite homebrew shop, San Francisco Brewcraft.

Date & Time: Thursday, February 17, 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.
LocationSan Francisco’s Landmark Ferry Building, in the CUESA Dacor Teaching Kitchen located in the North Arcade

Instructor Bio

Eric Denman has been brewing for over 7 years...he started with a 2 gallon "Mr. Beer" kit in college and has steadily improved his brewing setup to his current 10 gallon, all-grain setup.  He enjoys crafting new recipes and pushing existing style guidelines to create interesting and delicious brews.  He uses most of his homebrew to fuel the pairings of his beer dinner group: Mission Gastroclub.
